Memberships to the Halas Sports Center are available anytime during scheduled facility hours. Payment may be made by cash, check, Rambler Bucks, or credit card (Visa, Master Card, and Discover are accepted). A payroll deduction plan is available to Loyola faculty and staff.

Daily memberships are also available for students, faculty, staff and alumni of Loyola University Chicago for $10.

  • Annual Memberships are valid for one calendar year from date of purchase.
  • Fall Semester is valid from August 18, 2008 to January 11, 2009.
  • Spring Semester is valid from January 5 to May 6, 2009.
  • Summer Membership is valid from May 4 to August 23, 2009.
  • Summer Early Session Membership is valid from May 4 to June 21, 2009.
  • Summer Term A Membership is valid from May 4 to June 28, 2009.
  • Summer Term B Membership is valid from June 29 to August 23, 2009.

These fees are valid until June 30, 2009. All rights reserved by the Department of Campus Recreation. Proof of eligibility is required for any membership. If you are uncertain about which eligibility category applies to you, you may call the Halas Sports Center office staff at: 773.508.2602.

All Halas Sports Center membership cards are the property of the Department of Campus Recreation, and are only valid with a current membership. All Halas Sports Center cards that are not current in membership should be returned to the department at the conclusion of the membership. The department may retain cards of non-valid members, at its discretion. There is a $10 replacement fee for a lost membership card.

Family Memberships

Family memberships includes spouse, dependent children under 23 years of age, and Legally Domiciled Adult (LDA Eligibility Form must be on file with the Human Resources department). Dependent children are defined as those unmarried and under the age of 23 who are primarily financially dependent on their parent or parents for support. Memberships for children end when they attain the age of 23.

Membership Eligibility

Full-Time Undergraduate Students Full-time undergraduate students, with 12 hours or more of classes, are automatically billed for semester memberships through the student activity mandatory "bundled fee."
Part-Time and Graduate Students Part-time undergraduate students, with fewer than 12 hours of classes, and all graduate students are eligible to purchase memberships.
Faculty and Staff All current Loyola University Chicago faculty and staff are eligible to purchase memberships to the Halas Sports Center. A payroll deduction plan for annual memberships only is available to Loyola employees.
Jesuit Community Members Clergy must be affiliated with Loyola University Chicago, including S.J., B.V.M., and S.C.C.
Alumni Alumni must verify their status by producing a photo ID and either an alumni card (which can be obtained through the Alumni Office) or their original Loyola University Chicago, Mundelein College, or Mallinckrodt diploma (copies not acceptable).
Parents of Students Parents of Loyola students may purchase a membership to the Halas Sports Center which includes their spouse and their other dependent children under 23 years of age. The Loyola student must be present with a Loyola ID at the time of purchase.
Contract Employees Contract employees are eligible to purchase membership to the Halas Sports Center. Proof of eligibility is required at the time of purchase.
Loyola Retirees Retirees of Loyola University Chicago are eligible to purchase a membership to the Halas Sports Center. Family memberships are not available.
