The Career Development Center offers many services and programs to help you determine and articulate your strengths, your values and your interests as they relate to career areas and jobs within those areas.
Major & Career Planning
If you are a freshman or sophomore, and you're not quite sure about your major, then make an appointment to see a career counselor. He or she can introduce you to our resources and help you choose the major that best fits your long-term career goals.
Our career inventory testing and career self-assessment workshops can help you determine which careers might be best suited to your talents and interests. Alumni considering a career change will also find these resources extremely helpful.
Job & Internship Searching
The Career Development Center is also the place to find full-time or part-time positions or summer internships. We list thousands of off-campus jobs and internships each year through the online eRecruiting system. Register with eRecruiting to gain access to that helpful resource.
We also actively assist students and alumni search for internships and full-time jobs. Our staff helps you develop the skills you need to successfully design a job search and to connect with potential employers. A variety of job search workshops are offered through the academic year at both campuses. For specific dates and times, please see our calendar.
We hold two general job fairs each academic year. We also work with academic departments and student organizations to present smaller academic-area job and internship fairs, and we advertise career events in the Chicago area and beyond that are open to Loyola students.
