THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) sustains the tradition of rigorous academic study grounded in the liberal arts. CAS supports academic programs in the arts and sciences which focus on each student’s development as a whole person. CAS’s two campuses, Lake Shore and Water Tower, offer undergraduates the opportunity to earn the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree in 57 majors along with 46 M.A., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The college also offers 16 distinctive dual-degree and five-year programs, allowing students to pair the bachelor’s degree with graduate degrees in business, education, criminal justice, mathematics, social work, and more. Students in any major may choose to prepare for further professional study in one of the college’s pre-professional programs or to gain distinction by earning academic honors.
