About Us

The Center for Faculty Professional Development (CFPD) has a number of strategic goals which focus on providing faculty, department chairs and deans with the support they need to develop the teaching, research and leadership skills of Loyola faculty. Each goal below is followed by CFPD programs that support that goal.

Strategic Goals and Supporting Programs

Goal 1: Provide a significant resource to assist faculty to meet their expectations for making a superior contribution as teaching scholars at Loyola, embracing the mission of Loyola.

Goal 2: Facilitate the enrichment of the faculty professional experience, beginning with a year-long faculty orientation, supporting advancement in rank, including on-going professional development workshops, and continuing through post-retirement.

Goal 3: Promote the development of faculty as academic leaders.

Goal 4: Facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration among faculty in scholarship and teaching.

  • Workshop on collaboration for the Center for the Rights of the Child

Goal 5: Support the university's strategic plan for hiring, developing and retaining of historically under-represented groups. 

  • Meetings with Diverse Faculty
  • Development of Family-friendly Policy Recommendations
  • Revision of the CFPD Website to Highlight Family-friendly Policies
