Grants & Partnerships

Projects

The Center for School Evaluation, Intervention and Training collaborates with various state and higher education institutions via a series of grants and partnerships. Below are some of the projects we are currently working on and links to more information.

For information about establishing a partnership or service with CSEIT, please contact us.

High-School Schoolwide Positive Behavior Supports Research

CSEIT works with high schools in the Chicago Public Schools system to conduct longitudinal research on interventions for the whole school, groups of students, and specific students and families.

Illinois Alliance for School-based Problem-solving and Intervention Resources in Education (IL-ASPIRE)

CSEIT provides support for the evaluation of the federally funded initiative to develop response to treatment interventions pilot projects in the state of Illinois.

Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Network (IS-TAC)

Funded by the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Network (IS-TAC) provides outreach to students whose behavior impedes their ability to learn. The Illinois Technical Assistance Network project serves over 500 schools in the state of Illinois.

Illinois Character Education Positive Supports(ICEPS) Project

A consortium of three Illinois LEA’s in the northern, central, and Chicago sections of the state in collaboration with the Illinois State Technical Assistance Center (ISTAC), and the CSEIT are implementing a four-year federally funded Partnership in Character Education. This Partnership three tiered prevention for supporting character education for high schools and academic support.

Tertiary-Level Demonstration Project

CSEIT is working with the Illinois Positive Behavior Support Network and the University of Kansas on a joint research effort funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The partners are currently involved in successful implementation of the above components in Illinois and Kansas and will apply tools and practices that have proven effective for improving outcomes for individual students with complex needs

University Of Oregon

The Center for School Evaluation, Intervention and Training (CSEIT) works in partnership with the University of Oregon on a collaborative research project. This four year project is funded by the Institute for Education Science, at the U.S. Department of Education. High schools face tremendous challenges in their attempts to provide students with the academic and social skills needed to succeed in the adult world. A three-tiered model of support, school-wide positive behavior support (SWPBS) has been shown to be effective in enhancing the social and academic success of students in middle and high schools but use in high schools has not been widespread.

Virtual Information Management of Education Outcomes (VIMEO)

CSEIT is currently working on the development of VIMEO: an online, automated information system for data collection used for technical assistance evaluation. CSEIT's goal is to guide the integration of evaluation by creating efficient process and outcome measures.

Social and Emotional Learning

CSEIT is working with the Illinois Children’s Mental Health Partnership (ICMHP) and the Illinois State Board of Education on an evaluation effort funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
