The Economics Forum’s mission is to afford participants the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally by hosting a wide range of events at no charge, where members can learn more about economics and meet people in various stages of their Loyola career. The group sponsors engaging seminars, insightful alumni speakers, topical panel discussions, as well as internationally acclaimed visiting speakers. Additionally, they take several exciting field trips each year, and hold online discussion forums that have become an incredibly popular place for members to visit and speak out on a vast array of issues related to the practical and theoretical aspects of 21st-century economics.

The Graduate School of Business Advisory Council

The Graduate School of Business Advisory Council serves as a collaborative evaluation team committed to enhancing the educational experience at Loyola University Chicago by facilitating opportunities for positive change and growth.  Meeting approximately every month, the council works to identify GSB student concerns about relevant University issues and to enhance communication between students, faculty, and administration.  Through direct, open dialogue with the student body, the council attempts to accurately represent the opinions of the school’s constituency when assessing the effectiveness of the GSB’s programs.  For more information or to voice your opinion, email us directly at gsb-advisorycouncil@luc.edu.

The Loyola University Chicago GSB Association is an organization developed to enhance each student's GSB experience while pursuing his or her Masters degree.  In a nutshell, the organization was formed for the purpose of creating an avenue (such as social events, community service, speakers, etc) for classmates to get to know each other outside of the classroom.  Did you realize there are over 700 students in the Graduate School of Business?  What an amazing opportunity to expand one's personal network.  Through participation with the GSB Association, each student will encounter professional networking prospects, service opportunities within the Chicago community, and social occasions with GSB peers.  All GSB Association activities are open to current students, alumni, faculty, and community leaders.

GSBIC is a student organization that is all about international education, be it studying in the USA as an international student or studying outside of the United States for a short duration. GSBIC also aims to help international students from different countries in their transition into the American system and culture by providing support in any way possible. Through the club’s academic and networking events, as well as its cultural and social activities, GSB students will have an opportunity to interact with other international colleagues who have successfully integrated into the United States economy, experience international cultures and customs first hand, and interact with fellow colleagues who are curious and interested about the world.


Human Resource Student Association (“HRSA”)

Targeted Student Population: All Human Resources Students in Undergraduate/Graduate/MBA program

Meeting Days & Times: 1st and 3rd Monday of every month in Maguire Hall, Room 140 at 5:00 p.m.

Loyola University Chicago Human Resource Student Association (HRSA) is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and sponsored by the Northern Illinois chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (NISHRM).  The HRSA will endeavor to develop Human Resources students into future, dynamic Human Resources and business professionals.  HRSA will accomplish its objectives through the organization of career development activities, participation in philanthropic activities demonstrating HRSA’s desire to provide support to the community, and hosting social activities to allow members to meet and mingle with each other, alumni, administration, faculty and/or potential employers. In addition HRSA hopes to actively promote, facilitate, and maintain a top tier HRER program that is recognized nationally by employers, academic institutions, and professional organizations.

 

Investment Banking & Financial Markets Club

Targeted Student Population: Alumni, Graduate, and Undergrad students concentrating in Finance, Accounting, and Economics (we are accepting other students that are interested in learning more about the financial markets)

The Investment Banking and Financial Markets Club is a student organized and directed club that uses the combined resources of the Finance Department, the Graduate School of Business, and the Business Career Center to pursue employment opportunities for its members in the financial services industry.  The club capitalizes on the rigorous graduate curriculum at Loyola University Chicago to create an environment conducive to developing and enhancing a structure of networking both among students and between students and members of the industry. 


ISOM (Information Systems and Operations Management) Club

Targeted Student Population:  All Graduate and Undergraduate School of Business students but not excluding anyone with interest in the field.

Meeting Time: Monthly meetings with specific times TBD

The ISOM Club is an organization for all GSB and Undergraduate students, but everyone is welcomed who shares the interest in the ISOM field.  Come hear Loyola alumni speak about how they turned their education at Loyola into job opportunities and successful careers.  Join us to network with fellow students and get to know Professor Jukic, a leader in the ISOM field.  The ISOM Club meets once per month from 4:45 to 5:45 and we always have free pizza and refreshments.


Marketing Club

Target Student Population: Business students interested in marketing

Meeting Times: Every other Tuesday at 4:15 p.m., 25 E. Pearson, Room 1201

Strategic Consulting Club

The mission of SCG is to give Loyola GSB students the opportunity to apply their business skills in a real-life consulting situation and help them understand, prepare for, and develop careers in the Consulting industry. In addition, SCG promotes mutually beneficial relationships between students, faculty, entrepreneurs, corporations and leading management consulting firms. As a student-run organization, SCG coordinates a broad range of activities throughout the year, which help to educate students about consulting and prepare them for job searches and interviews. Furthermore, SCG intends to promote a positive image for the University through its contribution to the community and provide students with practical experience to bring forth into the business world.
