New Student Checklist

Welcome to Loyola University Chicago's Graduate School of Business! To ensure that you have a successful academic experience, we recommend that you complete the following steps before you begin your program:

First Class Assignments

Faculty may choose to post first class assignments before the quarter begins on Blackboard (blackboard.luc.edu). Your Universal ID and password will allow you to access Backboard. A complete syllabus will be distributed by each professor during the first class meeting. All students are expected to check Blackboard to see if they need to complete any work before the first class period. If the course for which you have registered does not have an assignment listed, there is no first class assignment for that class.

Orientation: Start-Me-Up Session

Loyola's Graduate School of Business hosts Start Me Up, a mandatory new student orientation session, before the start of each quarter (late August, early November, late February, late May) to welcome incoming students and provide them with an opportunity to meet faculty and fellow students. All new GSB students are required to attend. For more information or to register online, please click here. Otherwise, please contact: Raymond Pellegrini, Academic Advisr, at: 312.915.6124; or e-mail: rpellg@luc.edu.

Register for Courses

Course registration occurs on a quarterly basis. Please make sure that you understand the academic policies for withdrawal from a class and for late registration. You are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor prior to registering for your first quarter.

Information Technology Services (ITS) mails to each new student a Universal ID and password prior to registration. The ID and password are needed to access LOCUS, Loyola's online registration system. If you do not receive your ID or password, please call the ITS Call Center at: 773.508.7190.

For more information, please visit the registration Web page.
