Founded in 1994 by Professor Larry Singer, Loyola University Chicago School of Law's Center for Catholic Health Care and Sponsorship is dedicated to enhancing and supporting Catholic sponsorship. Having developed a national reputation for excellence in sponsor-focused programming, the Center continues to bring it's expertise to assist Catholic health care leaders in strengthening the foundation of their ministry: sponsorship.
The Center is housed in Loyola University Chicago School of Law's acclaimed Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy. Loyola University Chicago is an internationally recognized Jesuit university with a leading academic medical center. Its School of Law is considered a leader in the fields of health law, child law and trial advocacy.
Larry Singer
Center Director and Founder
Larry Singer is Director of the Center for Catholic Health Care and Sponsorship, Associate Professor of Law at Loyola University Chicago's School of Law and Director of the School's Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy, one of the nation's highest ranked health law programs in the United States.
His Center activities focus on sponsorship, transactional and governance issues involving Catholic health care systems and institutions. He has also advised a number of Catholic high schools, colleges and universities. Larry has facilitated the cosponsorship of some of the largest Catholic health care systems in the country, and is a trusted friend and adviser to numerous religious institutes and health care executives throughout the United States. He has negotiated/facilitated mergers, acquisitions, sales, affiliations and co-sponsorships, as well as counseling in the areas of governance formation and revitalization, structuring, visioning and strategic planning.
Larry has extensive governance experience, most recently serving as the Chair of the Benedictine Health System. He also serves on the Governance Committee of Resurrection Health Care, the Finance Committee of the Cenacle Sisters, and the Board of the United Way of Evanston, among other service appointments.
