Support Centers Chat Rooms

Support Centers

During the 2007 fall semester, Academic Technology Services is piloting the use of instant messaging and online chat rooms to supplement their support services to the university community. Three groups are conducting the pilot: Technology Support Center, ResNet and Blackboard Support using the GroupWise Messenger system.

Technology Support Center Chat Room
Technology Support Center will have an online support chat room available Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 noon. To access the support chat room, connect to your account in the GroupWise Messenger, click on Actions, click on Join Chat Room and select ITS Support Center from the list.

ResNet Chat Room
ResNet will have an online chat room available Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, from 3:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. Connect to your account in the GroupWise Messenger, click on Actions, click on Join Chat Room and select ResNet from the list.

Blackboard Support Chat Room
Blackboard Support will have online chat room available Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Connect to your account in the GroupWise Messenger, click on Actions, click on Join Chat Room and select Ask Blackboard from the list.

Blackboard Support will also be available through instant messaging during off-hours, Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 pm through 10:30 pm, and on Sunday, from 7:30 pm through 10:30 pm. Connect to your account in the GroupWise Messenger, click on Actions, click on Add Contact, click on the Use this UserID radial button and type in Blackboard to add to you contact list..
