Media Services

Media Services is the primary source of technology in the classroom.Our mission is to provide exceptional management and audi-visual technical support for classes and academic events. Successful use of educational technology enhances the teaching process and assures quality learning goals. We believe in "customer first" support for our faculty, students, administration, staff and guests.
 

Our Services

We provide:

  • Instructional training in audio-visual equipment use in the electronic classrooms
  • Delivery & pick up of audio-visual/multi-media equipment in classrooms and auditoriums
  • Video teleconferencing support in 25 E. Pearson Rooms 211 & 727, Sullivan Center Room 222, and Granada West Conference Room

  • 35mm slide projectors
  • Overhead projectors
  • Projection screens
  • Portable Smartcart (data projector & computer)
  • Cassette/CD player (boombox)
     

Requesting Service

Requesting Equipment or Assistance:

You can request equipment or ask for assistance using electronic classrooms by contacting the ITS Support Center at 4-4444 (on campus) or 773-508-7190 (off campus).  Please contact us at least 72 hours in advance for the delivery and setup of all equipment.  If you have any questions, contact the ITS Support Center at 4-4444 (on campus) or 773-508-7190 (off campus).

Please Note:
  • Media Services does not reserve rooms.  To reserve a space for an event, please contact Campus Reservations at 8-8067 (on campus) or 773-508-8067 (off campus).  Letting Campus Reservations know your AV needs when making the reservation will help you to receive better service, since many of our rooms have built-in equipment.
  • Equipment requests for events in Centennial Forum, Halas Sport Center, and the Gentile Center, Terry Student Center, Regis Hall and any Residence Hall are arranged through campus reservations at 8-8067 (on campus) or 773-508-8067 (off campus). 
  • Equipment and support requests for Law School classes and events are arranged through the Law School audiovisual service at 5-7178 (on campus) or 312-915-7178 (off campus).

Video Teleconferencing:

For video teleconferencing requests, please reserve one of our video teleconference rooms with Campus Reservations at (773) 508-8067. After you have confirmed your reservation of a teleconferencing room, contact the ITS Support Center at 4-4444 (on campus) or 773-508-7190 (off campus) to arrange for support of your teleconference with Media Services. Please allow at least 72 hours for setup of a video teleconference.

Audio-visual materials:

Request for audio-visual materials (e.g., videotapes, DVDs, slides) should be arranged through the Library. You can reach them by phone at 8-2666 or on the Web at http://libraries.luc.edu/forms/avfaculty.cfm.

Hours of Operation
The Media Services team is available to assist you:

  • During academic sessions, from
    Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 9:30pm
    Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • During academic breaks, from
    Monday through Saturday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • We are closed on Sundays and all University Holidays
