Loyola undergraduate students with a a minimum of a 3.0/4.0 GPA and a minimum grade of "B" in all science courses may apply to transfer into the School of Nursing by submitting a completed application form.

Admission to the program is competitive and space is extremely limited.  If students are interested in applying as internal transfers to the School of Nursing, it is strongly recommended that they choose and follow the path of a College of Arts and Sciences Major.

Admissions Requirements

• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all college coursework completed, including transfer credits.
• A minimum grade of “B” in all science courses. 
• Attendance to an information session prior to application. 

Information Sessions

Interested students must attend a mandatory information session to get more information on the School of Nursing’s internal transfer admissions procedures.  This will ensure that students remain on track with the Nursing curriculum and remain in sequence with their graduating class.  Information sessions are held twice monthly throughout the fall and spring semesters.  Summer sessions are held once a month.

Please note: You must be a current Loyola student to attend these sessions. If you have recently transferred to Loyola from another college/university, you must complete one full semester prior to attending a session. All students must RSVP to attend a session.

Application and Deadlines

Applications are accepted twice yearly for internal transfers; once in the fall and once in the spring.  Applications for the fall 2008 semester are due by July 1, 2008.  Fall 2008 acceptance decisions will be made after the spring 2008 grades are available.
