Parking at Loyola

Loyola University Chicago appreciates the cooperation and courtesy shown to one another by students, staff, faculty and friends as it relates to parking at Loyola's Chicago campuses. Rules and regulations are put into effect to control the use of limited parking facilities and to maximize safety for members of the university community.

Parking a motor vehicle on one of the Lakeside Campuses, (Lake Shore and Water Tower) is a privilege. This is especially true during times when the university is sponsoring special events. Parking illegally during these times can be especially dangerous.

Given the limited number of parking spaces available, a parking permit does not guarantee a space will be available at all times. This is especially true during times when the university is sponsoring a special event that requires reserved parking spaces. This does not, however, give a person the right to parking illegally.

Loyola University Chicago assumes no responsibility for vehicles parked or operated on campus, nor for articles left in them, nor for lost/stolen permits. The risks remain with the operator and/or owner of the vehicle.

Motorcycles and scooters are considered motor vehicles and must comply with all rules and regulations set forth in this policy.

The Director of Parking Services and the Campus Safety Department have the authority to establish and enforce parking regulations.
