Reporting Emergencies

For any life-threatening emergency first call 911, then immediately call Campus Safety at 44-911:

• Give your name and phone number.
• Describe the nature of the emergency.
• Be prepared to respond to the dispatcher's instructions.
• In response to your call, the dispatcher will send officers and appropriate police, fire, or ambulance units to your location immediately.

Emergency Call Boxes

• Blue light emergency telephones are located on both campuses. There are over 400 emergency phones located inside buildings and throughout the grounds of our Lakeside campuses.
  
• In an emergency, simply push the "ON" button to notify Campus Safety of your location and need for assistance.

Campus Safety Staff

Campus Police Officers (PO) are graduates of a State certified Police Academy. They have successfully completed 400 hours of police Academy training and have passed the Illinois Law Enforcement Examination (written). Many of our officers have college degrees or are pursuing a degree during their off duty time.
