Minutes of the January 24, 2005 University Coordinating Committee
Present: Anthony Barbato, Kim Dell'Angela, Bren Murphy, Leaf

A request was sent to the Academic Affairs UPC to review the graduation
requirement in SPS for the ODL and ODL-PLST students.
Discussions at the Student Affairs UPC, Deans' Council, Faculty Affairs
UPC, and Faculty Council have all resulted in a positive recommendation for
the university to consider offering partner benefits. The next step is to
integrate this recommendation into the state's new ruling in this regard.
Staff Council is to recommend names to the UCC to replace Geralyn Hudson,
staff representative on the Strategic Planning UPC, who has resigned from
the university.
The Faculty Council requested that the UCC offer a better understanding of
how topics/issues get to the various UPCs. Shortly before this meeting, the
president met with the Faculty Council and suggested that the faculty on
UPCs be invited to join Faculty Council as ex-officio members in order to
provide better communication. Faculty Council is considering this
recommendation.
